Nestled at the foothills of Mount Ida, where history intertwines with nature.
Yeşilyurt Village is located within the borders of Ayvacık district in the south of Çanakkale, situated at the foothills of Mount Ida, which holds significant importance in Greek mythology. According to mythology, the first beauty contest attended by Aphrodite, Hera, and Athena took place on Mount Ida, known today as the Kaz Mountains.
With a history dating back 700 years, Yeşilyurt Village, formerly known as Büyük Çetmi, has been a place where Greeks and Turks coexisted for centuries. This village offers visitors an Aegean/Mediterranean atmosphere with its stone houses, streets paved with cobblestones, spacious village square, historical mosque, pine forests, olive groves, centuries-old cypress trees in its cemetery, and a variety of fruit trees.
Located just 2.5 km from the sea and 500 meters inland from the Çanakkale road, Yeşilyurt Village is one of the rare places where you can experience the magnificent harmony of mountains and the sea. This unique village promises visitors an unforgettable experience by offering a perfect combination of history, nature, and culture.
